Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Almaty.

Day 2. Transfer to the Kar-Kara valley (260 km, 6 hrs).

Day 3. Start of Biking tour. Departure from Kar-Kara valley to Karakol town by Issyk-Kul Lake via Novovoznesenovka village (70 km, 4-5 hrs). Sightseeing biking in Karakol, then transfer to the Dzhety-Oguz Gorge (50 km, 1 hr).

Day 4. Biking through the forests along the river, following Dzhety-Oguz gorge to the mountain barrier (full day).

Day 5. Biking downhill from Dzhety-Oguz to Issyk-Kul Lake, further along the Lake to Kadjy-Sai (100 km, 5 hours). Swimming on the way.

Day 6. Rest by the Lake. Afternoon biking along the southern lakeside of Issyk-Kul to the Kara-Tala (70 km, 4 hours).

Day 7. Rest by Issyk-Kul Lake. Afternoon bike from Kara-Tala to Kochkor village (70 km, 4 hours).

Day 8. Biking from Kochkor up to the Dolon Pass (3030m), then downhill to a river and forest at the end of the Pass Road, and further to Naryn town (140 km, 7 hours).

Day 9. From Naryn drive up to Kyzyl-Bel pass, than biking to end of the paved road, in the direction of Tash-Rabat, caravanserai, eventually by car (130 km, 6-7 hours).

Day 10. Biking along historic route of the ancient Silk Road connecting China to Kyrgyzstan (70 km, 5 hours).

Day 11. Either transfer back to Almaty or for those wishing to continue on to China, drive to Torugart pass (50 km, 3 hours), Kyrgyz-Chinese border post. Customs and border formalities. Meet with Chinese Agency representative for further travel to Kashgar (about 150km).

Note: This itinerary can be arranged vice versa - from Chinese-Kyrgyz border post on Torugart pass to Almaty.
